I've decided

I want to deadlift 400 lbs.

Laura, wanting to deadlift 400 pounds is admirable, but be careful of your back, don't strain too hard right away.

I would suggest starting with elevated deads before lifting that much off the floor.

Kelly,

Of course, safety is key. I have already deadlifted 305 lbs., and I aim to continue lifting after I deadlift 400, not destroy myself in the process. I definitely value the integrity and health of my body. Thanks for your concern.

Geez! 305 is stronger than most men that I know, although that isn't saying much since most of the men I know are all skinny triathletes or marathon runners. :)

So do it. If you think you can, you can. May take a while. Like the story of the guy who carried the bull everyday from the time it was a baby, till full grown. Carrying a fullgrown bull sounds impossible, but if you do it every day, it's not so tough. Lift heavy!
